Ice skating through the forest in Lac-des-Loups 45 minutes from Ottawa

About 45 minutes away from Ottawa at the Lac-des-Loups ice skating pathway let you

Discover the enchanting site of Skating in the Woods. Enjoy the unique experience of skating on a 3 km natural trail. In a beautiful landscape outdoors and sheltered from the wind. Imagine the trees loaded with freshly fallen snow, it's really special.

Upon arrival we putted our skates in the car, but we could have done it outside where they had benches. There was a ticket office for those who didn't purchase their ticket online, and there was a line for those who bought the ticket online. We didn't have to wait much long to get in, in fact, there was almost no one in line when we went.

We then proceeded to the start of the skating pathway and we embark on our small journey. The directions of the pathway are well explained and presented so you can easily find yourself and come back to the cottage at any time.

We did a full tour of the skating pathway, the ice was well maintained which makes the experience that much better. While on the ice you can skate or stop at various locations to sit down and relax which is nice. Once we came back to the cottage which is connected to the pathway, we were able to sit down and drink hot chocolate around the fire.

Note that there is a fee of 16$ for adults and 12$ for kids. You can buy tickets directly on their website.

They do have a maximum capacity of 300 people of the ice at all time and the 2 meters distance between people are implemented as part of the COVID-19 restrictions.

We would highly recommend this outdoor activity, as it is a pretty unique experience and make memorable memories for the young and old!
